"Ancient Armaments" solo - NYC October 31th 1978
"La Marseillaise": Nous entrerons dans la carrière / Quand nos aînés n'y seront plus / Nous y trouverons leur poussière / Et la trace de leurs vertus / Bien moins jaloux de leur survivre / Que de partager leur cercueil / Nous aurons le sublime orgueil / De les venger ou de les suivre
We too shall enlist / When our elders' time has come / To add to the list of deeds / Inscribed upon their tombs / We are much less jealous of surviving them / Than of sharing their coffins / We shall have the sublime pride / Of avenging or joining theme

The 1980 CBS EP "I Dont Wanna Get Drafted" also issued as a standard 45 rpm single, was a rarity that featured the original version of Frank Zappa's "I Don't Wanna Get Drafted", a song whose creation was provoked by then President Jimmy Carter's reinstitution of selective service. This amusing song is better than the remake heard on Zappa's CD "You Are What You Is", which has excessive overdubbed vocals and instruments that threaten to turn it into cacophony. Although the single version of "I Don't Wanna Get Drafted" finally appeared on the 1996 Zappa compilation CD "The Lost Episodes".
The B-side of this EP, "Ancient Armaments", has yet to be reissued. This instrumental was recorded near the end of Zappa's 1978 Halloween concert at the Palladium in New York City and features a blistering guitar solo worthy of comparison to the high points of his "Shut Up 'N Play Your Guitar" boxed set. It is this song that makes this EP a sought-after collectable by Zappa's fans.
